As a kid I loved Ace Frehley, Joe Perry and Peter Frampton. But it was Ted Nugent that turned me onto the school of "How fast can I play this thing!" Then I discovered the amazing technique and melody of Michael Schenker and Gary Moore but always had a love for bluesy players like Billy Gibbons and Ry Cooder.
I feel the greatest technition ever was the late great Shawn Lane. But my favorite player as far as taste and feel go is George Lynch.
I've never learned theory, to read music, or even the notes on the neck. I've just always played what I felt and learned the old fashioned way of practicing 10-12 hours a day. These days though I only need a few hours a week to stay on top of my playing.
I'm recording and new CD finally which I hope to have out by summer. I'm also appearing on a couple friends CDs with a few guest tracks. I'm currently putting my new lineup together so I can start playing out again in the fall!
Guitars-Ibanez RG 550's with Seymour Duncan pickups and custom pickguards. Strings-Ernie Ball 8-38 tuned down a whole step. Picks-Dunlop Tortex purple H3's.
Now I'm going to take a moment and discuss my amps; first I'd like to thank Mr. Santiago Santiall at Marshall for designing the greatest rock/metal amp ever built! Every classic tone ever wanted plus the most crushing tones for modern metal ever achieved can be heard through the Marshall JVM!!
I don't have an endorsement with Marshall so I get nothing for boasting of the JVM. But plug into one and you'll know what I'm talking about!
